Our honey is not only delicious but also has many health benefits. Below you find some of the reaons why we love our honey so much and obviously the fact it’s very tasty is reason number one!
Honey’s polyphenols and flavonoids give it antibacterial, anti-viral, and anti-inflammatory properties that can help fight inflammation and protect against disease.
Honey’s high sugar and acidity content helps to draw water out of wounds, inhibiting bacterial growth and promoting healing. Some studies suggest it works well as a wound dressing.
Honey may help regulate heart rhythms and improve cholesterol levels, which are factors in cardiovascular health, potentially due to its antioxidant content.
Honey’s thick, syrupy texture soothes the throat and can effectively reduce the frequency of coughs in children over 12 months old, promoting better sleep.
Honey contains prebiotic properties that encourage the growth of beneficial gut bacteria, supporting overall digestive health.
Honey contains a variety of amino acids, vitamins, and minerals, providing a nutrient boost and a source of energy.
Made in small batches using oatmeal, our own raw honey and then delicately scented with an essential oil blend of Lemongrass, May Chang and Cedarwood.
Oatmeal has so many benefits but most importantly it has anti-inflammatory properties which can help to relieve conditions such as eczema and psoriasis. When applied to the skin, it blocks harmful irritants providing relief and helps to lock in moisture. It also has the added benefit of acting as a natural, gentle exfoliator removing dead skin cells, leaving your skin fresh and revived.
The natural humectant ability of honey helps the skin to retain moisture, whilst it’s natural antioxidants can help reduce signs of aging. Honey promotes wound healing (antibacterial) and is good for cell renewal. Raw honey is full of flavonoids, cleanses pores, exfoliates, hydrates and conditions deeply.
Lemongrass stimulates and wakens the senses, it is also said to improve skin, as it is a mild astringent and natural deodorant.
May Chang has similar properties as lemongrass and so useful for oily and acne prone skin. It is an effective cleanser and is known as the ‘happy oil’ as it is believed to promote inner calm.
Cedarwoood boasts an abundance of beneficial properties, mainly in the reduction of acne but is also said to calm anxiety!
